Our Standards

Editorial Guidelines

Trust is everything. When you cook one of our recipes or follow one of our kitchen guides, you’re trusting us with your dinner, your groceries, and your family’s table. These Editorial Guidelines explain how we earn that trust — how our recipes are tested, how our content is researched, and how we stay honest. Questions? Write to us at contact@bitebox.info.

Our Publishing Promise

Every recipe and article on BiteBox is researched, tested, and carefully edited before it goes live. We would rather publish less often than publish something we wouldn’t happily serve at our own table.

Who Creates Our Content

Content is created and edited by M.S. Jorden, founder and editor of BiteBox — a passionate home cook and recipe developer. Every article carries a human byline, and the final responsibility for accuracy rests with the editor.

How We Choose What to Publish

We publish what we know and love: simple everyday recipes, seasonal dishes, drinks for every mood, and practical kitchen tools. We only cover food trends we’ve genuinely tried in our own kitchen — not every trend deserves a place at your table, and we’ll tell you honestly when one doesn’t.

Recipe Testing

This is the heart of BiteBox. Every recipe is cooked in a real home kitchen — not once, but at least twice — before it’s published. We check timings, temperatures, measurements, and taste at every step. Our kitchen tools (converters, timers, calculators) are checked against standard culinary references. If we haven’t personally tested something, we say so and explain the basis of our recommendation.

Research Methods

Our articles draw on: hands-on cooking and baking experience in a real home kitchen; standard culinary references and ingredient guides; reputable food publications and cookbooks; and reader questions and feedback, which often inspire new recipes and guides. We prefer primary sources — the producer’s own specifications over a third-party summary.

A Note on Nutrition and Health

Our recipes are about enjoying good food, not medical advice. Where nutrition information appears, it’s an estimate meant for general guidance only. If you have dietary restrictions, allergies, or health conditions, please consult a qualified professional — and always double-check ingredient labels yourself.

Fact-Checking Before Publication

Before anything goes live, we verify ingredient quantities, cooking times and temperatures, tool measurements, and every factual claim. A second read-through checks clarity, tone, and consistency — because one confusing step can ruin a whole dish.

How We Use AI Tools

We may use AI tools for background research and drafting help, but every recipe and article is written, cooked, verified, and approved by a human. AI never publishes to this site unsupervised, and every factual claim is checked before publication.

Affiliate Links and Sponsored Content

Our independence is non-negotiable. Some articles may contain affiliate links — they never influence what we recommend. We recommend first, link second. If an article is sponsored or features gifted products, it will be clearly labeled at the top. Advertisers and partners never review or approve our content before it’s published.

Advertising and Editorial Independence

Display advertising keeps BiteBox free for everyone, but our editorial judgment is never for sale. Ad placements don’t affect which recipes we publish, how we rate things, or which products we feature.

Keeping Content Fresh

Tastes change, ingredients change, and so do our articles. We review our recipes and guides on a regular cycle to update instructions, availability, and advice. When an article is substantially updated, we note it.

Corrections Policy

If we get something wrong — a measurement, a timing, a fact — we fix it and we own it. You can report errors anytime at contact@bitebox.info. We aim to correct factual errors within 7 days, and significant corrections are noted at the bottom of the article with the date of the change.

Images and Attribution

We use original photography and graphics, licensed stock images, and press images as described in our copyright policy. We credit creators wherever licenses or standards require it.

Reader Feedback

Our readers make BiteBox better. Your comments, emails, and corrections are read by a human and genuinely shape what we cook and publish next. Write to us anytime at contact@bitebox.info.
